The course begins with a discussion of the gravitational, electrostatic, magnetic and nuclear interactions. This is followed by units on electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic induction, AC and DC circuits and Maxwell's equations and their application including the wave equation, reflection and refraction and waveguides. Assessment is by assignments and tests. Prerequisites: M122 Particles in Motion, and M161 Calculus and Matrix Algebra.
